The Wilsons decided that while the interior was out, it would be a good time to soundproof the cabin. We removed all the existing fiberglass insulation.

This is a view of the co-pilot side of the plane as "The Insulator" soundproofing insulation is replacing the fiberglass.

As soon as the interior was removed, Pat made arrangements to have his windows replaced here on the field.

After removing the side panels we discovered that the warped look caused by previous water damage of the original Piper cardboard panels. The Wilsons agreed to remake the panels out of aluminum.

All the existing fabrics were removed from the seats, and stripped down to the frame. |

The frames were next prepped and painted to match the new interior color. We installed mechanical lumbar supports in the pilot and co-pilot seat backrests. The Wilsons decided to really update the look of the interior and included an extensive redesign of the seats. That is why you see twine hanging at this step of the job.

Here, the new look of the pilot seat is beginning to take form. The Wilsons chose Aeronappa leather by Aeristo in an Egret color with a green hummingbird color accent trim for the side panels.

"Confor" temperfoam replaced the basic original cushion foam.

The seats and side panels await reinstallation.

The old Piper red nylon carpet was replaced with a neutral colored wool carpet. Notice that the seatbelt color has changed. While the interior work was in process, the seatbelts were sent away for refurbishment and certification.

The console was also updated, and here we have an interior that really shows off the taste and personal image of our customers, the Wilsons.
